Starwood has signed an agreement for a brand new Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Sydney.

Following the recent announcement that the existing Four Points hotel at Darling Harbour will be rebranded as a Hyatt later this year, Starwood has now confirmed that the brand will return to the Australian city in 2018 with the opening of a new Four Points hotel close to Sydney’s Central Station.

Located in the AU$2 billion (US$1.5bn) Central Park development, on the site of the former Old Kent Brewery, the new-build Four Points by Sheraton Sydney Central Park will offer 297 rooms, a bar with an outdoor terrace, a restaurant, fitness centre and nearly 550m² of function space.

“We are delighted to… expand the presence of the Four Points brand in Australia, following the recent openings in Perth and Brisbane and the signing of another property slated to open in Melbourne in 2017,” said Andrew Taylor, Starwood’s director of acquisitions & development for the Pacific.

“Boasting the largest pipeline in Starwood’s portfolio, the Four Points brand recently reached 200 hotels globally and continues to experience strong growth around the world.”

As well as the new Four Points hotels in Sydney and Melbourne, Starwood has six other properties under development in Australia, namely the Aloft Perth Rivervale, Westin Perth, Aloft Adelaide, Westin Brisbane, W Brisbane and Sheraton Adelaide.
