Travelsphere has reported record bookings for holidays in September as its customers stay in the UK for the summer events.
Enquiries for trips in the month have doubled, with 83% of its September departures already sold.
“September is always a busy month for us, with our customers largely travelling without children and so outside of school holidays, but this year, they have been joined by those often keener to travel in July or August, but delaying their holiday to join in the festivities at home,” said Colin Wilson, sales director at Travelsphere.
“Agents should encourage customers interested in travelling in September to book their holiday as soon as they can to get the best prices. At present, tour operators are still holding their allocations of airline seats, but at three months before departure, some of these will soon start to be handed back to airlines, making availability even tighter and meaning flight seats will need to be re-purchased at the market price, which will rise with strong demand,” he added.
