V Air, the Taiwanese low-cost carrier, has launched direct flights between Taipei and Tokyo.
The inaugural service departed Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport on Friday night, carrying 137 passengers direct to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport.
The scheduled service will now operate three times a week, with flights departing Taipei every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2200 and arriving at Haneda at 0200. The return flights will leave Tokyo every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 0300 and arrive back in Taipei at 0600.
Tokyo Haneda becomes the seventh international destination in V Air’s network and its fourth in Japan, following Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. And the airline’s expansion will continue this week with the launch of flights to Ibaraki.
All V Air’s flights are operated using either a 180-seat Airbus A320 or 194-seat A321 aircraft.
