V Air, the Taiwanese low-cost carrier, has announced plans to launch its first flights to South Korea.
Commencing on 24 August, the airline will initially operate twice weekly flights (Mondays and Fridays) between Taipei and Busan, the port city on southeast Korea. But V Air said it is planning to increase the frequency to three flights per week by the end of 2015.
The route will be operated using a 194-seat, all-economy class Airbus A321 aircraft.
V Air, which launched last year, is a subsidiary of Taiwan’s third largest carrier, TransAsia Airways. Currently it operates flights from Taipei to Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Siem Reap, so Busan will become its first destination in Northeast Asia.
