TAT targets China

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has planned promotional campaigns for Asian markets this year, especially in China, South Korea and Japan.

The Nation said the TAT had just finished a promotion campaign among Chinese visitors. Under the campaign, the TAT organised a meeting of 250 Chinese tour operators and 80 Thai counterparts, and invited media representatives from 20 major provinces of China to visit Thai tourism locations. The agency expects Chinese visitors will reach one million this year, up from 900,000 in 2007.
