DEREK SHARP has been named as Travelport’s new President & Managing Director for the Americas, based in Atlanta. Prior to joining Travelport, Sharp served for almost 10 years in senior roles with Electronic Data Systems/HP Enterprise Services.
SCOTT ROBERTSON has become the first Group Food & Beverage Manager for Peppers, BreakFree and Mantra hotels. The former GM of qualia, Robertson has also previously held senior positions with Sheraton resorts in Fiji and Australia.
TRACY ROBBINS has been appointed as Executive Vice President Global Human Resources and Group Operations Support for InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). Ms Robbins joined IHG as an Executive Committee member in December 2005.
CHRIS RANKIN has been named as Air New Zealand’s new UK Sales Development, Commercial & Distribution Manager. Rankin joins Air New Zealand from his role as General Manager of Cruise 1st, an online retail agency owned by Royal Caribbean.
MALCOLM ZANCANARO has been appointed General Manager of the Grand Hyatt Beijing. Zancanaro has been with Hyatt for more than 20 years, most recently serving as GM at the Hyatt Regency Qingdao, where he oversaw the hotel’s pre-opening.
ANTHONY A. SEBASTIAN has been appointed General Manager of The Datai Langkawi, which was recently taken over by Archipelago Hotels & Resorts. Malaysian-born Sebastian’s career spans 22 years with Hyatt in Malaysia and Singapore.
LUKE BENBOW has been appointed General Manager of Centara’s Bhundhari Spa Resort & Villas Samui and Centara Pariya Resort & Villas Koh Phangan. He was previously Resident Manager of the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Krabi.
BODO KLINGENBERG has been announced as the new General Manager of the Hotel Muse Bangkok, Langsuan. A German national, Klingenberg joins the Accor MGallery property following spells in the Maldives, Taiwan and Thailand.
GILLIAN CLARK has been announced as SeaDream Yacht Club’s new Director of Charter Sales. Ms Clark, who will be based in her home town of Seattle, joins SeaDream following 22 years as Director of Sales with Holland America Line.
LYNDON PHILLIPS has been announced as Director of Sales for the Banyan Tree Residences and Laguna Property, responsible for property sales in Bangkok and Phuket, and residence sales in Bintan. He was previously Director of Sales at Royal Phuket Marina.
MOON KANG has been appointed Executive Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage, for the Sheraton Maldives. Kang’s Starwood career began at the Westin Sydney in 2002, and he most recently served as Director of Food & Beverage at W Seoul Walkerhill.
SIMON HUANG has been appointed Director of Food & Beverage at the Grand Mercure Hongqiao Shanghai. Huang has worked in the US, Netherlands, and most recently served as Director of Food &Beverage at Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Puxi.
PAT PHANEKHAM has been named Hotel Manager of The Club Saujana Resort, Kuala Lumpur. An Australian citizen born in Laos, Phanekham has served as GM at hotels in Australia, China and Indonesia, including the Stamford Plaza Hotel, Brisbane.
PHILIP WOOLLER has been named as STR Global’s new Area Director for the Middle East & Africa. Wooller joined STR Global in 2008 following the company’s merger with The Bench, where he had been working since 2006. He will be based in Dubai.
SYLVAIN ROYER has been named Executive Chef at the Sofitel Bangkok Silom. A French national, Chef Sylvain joined Accor in 2000, and moves back to the company following a spell as Executive Chef at the Landmark Hotel, Bangkok.
MORRIS LIU has taken over as Executive Chef at the Grand Mercure Hongqiao. A native of Shanghai, Chef Morris has previously worked at the city’s Hilton hotel, and most recently served as Executive Chef at Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel in Shanghai.
