Thai Lion Air has moved to expand its distribution reach by signing a new agreement with Sabre.
The move will see the Bangkok-based airline make its fares available to more than 100,000 Sabre-connected travel agents across the Asia Pacific region. This marks the first GDS agreement signed by Thai Lion Air.
“Bookings from Sabre-connected travel agents will help us to increase our frequency, while channelling demand for the new routes we have planned,” said Aswin Yangkirativorn, CEO of Thai Lion Air.
“We are operating in a very competitive climate and appreciate that with Sabre, we have the opportunity to present the Thai Lion Air proposition in a way that differentiates our brand.”
Hans Belle, Sabre Travel Network’s vice president of supplier commerce & strategic partnerships for Asia Pacific, commented; “Thai Lion Air further expands our extensive portfolio of low-cost Asia Pacific airlines. We look forward to supporting Thai Lion Air, a tactical carrier targeting very specific growth markets, as it develops its regional network and commercial model.”
Thai Lion Air currently serves a network of 10 domestic routes from Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport, plus international services to Singapore.
