Thai luxury resort operator, AHMS, has unveiled the first in a new concept of wellness centres that it plans to roll out across the region.
The first Ayurah Wellness Centre was recently launched at the Aleenta Phuket-Phang Nga, as part of the resort’s THB100 million (US$3.5m) renovation. And the company said it now plans to expand the concept to its other resorts, the Aleenta Hua Hin-Pranburi and Akaryn Samui Resort & Spa.
The company’s new flagship resort, Akaryn Koh Krabeay Retreat in Cambodia, will also feature an Ayurah Wellness Centre when it opens next year.
AHMS’ owner and managing director, Anchalika Kijkanakorn, said the new concept would offer services above the level of the standard hotel spa.
“Guests are now well versed on wellness and are looking for a more medical approach, integrating treatments into their holidays so they will leave feeling and looking great. They want a spa that delivers on its promises, that provides treatments which work, and that’s Ayurah,” said Ms Anchalika.
“We are talking about treatments where guests come three to four times a year, to ‘top up’ on making sure they are looking and feeling their very best. This can include full maintenance plans where guests will be able to come once or twice a month keeping them feeling beautiful and rejuvenated.”
Ayurah Wellness Centres will offer a range of treatment types, including hydrotherapy and chromotherapy baths, nail and foot reflexology, oxygen and music therapy, plus beauty salons and relaxation lounges. There will be special treatment programmes for jetlag recovery and stress relief, a children’s spa, and a range of activities including yoga, Thai boxing, tai chi, pilates and nature walks.
Three-day, five-day and seven-day package will be available for guests looking for a full wellness-focused holiday, and all spas will be supported by an onsite doctor.
AHMS operates three luxury boutique resorts in Thailand under its Aleenta and Akaryn brands, and plans to launch two new properties next year in Chiang Mai and Cambodia.
