Thai Airways International (THAI) has started offering Wi-Fi to passengers aboard some of its aircraft.
The new ‘THAI Sky Connect’ service is now available in 13 of the carrier’s aircraft – seven Airbus A330-300s and six – with packages starting from US$4.50 for smartphone users and US$14.50 for tablets and laptops. Passengers will be able to pay via their credit or debit cards.
“In the era of digital media, online technology is very popular and essential to everyday life, even during the time spent on board an airplane. With THAI Sky Connect, passengers are able to remain connected to the internet,” said Chokchai Panyayong, THAI’s senior executive vice president of commercial.
“With THAI Sky Connect, passengers… are able to connect to the internet with a laptop, tablet, or smartphone and use various applications on the internet, such as Virtual Private Network (VPN), e-mail access, instant messaging and web browsers,” he added.
The THAI in-flight Wi-Fi service is provided by OnAir.
