Akaryn Hotel Group, the Thai boutique hotelier, has unveiled its first property in Bangkok.

Located in the trendy Thonglor area of the city, akyra Thonglor Bangkok has opened following the complete refurbishment of a former hotel. Billed as a “five-star boutique hotel”, the property features 148 rooms, comprising studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites.

There is also a restaurant and a 24-hour fitness centre, and guests can access the facilities of the adjacent mall and 24-hour supermarket. There is also a complimentary shuttle service to the BTS skytrain station.

“Thonglor is my favourite part of Bangkok. There is a good reason why those in the know choose to spend most of their business and leisure time there,” said Akaryn Hotel Group’s founder & managing director, Achalika Kijkanakorn.

“Thonglor is exciting, arty, cutting-edge [and] full of design inspiration and art galleries. It’s also local in the sense that even though many expats live there, it’s the long term residents that choose Thonglor for the unique sense of belonging and the diverse, always happening feel.”

The Bangkok hotel becomes Akaryn’s third akyra-branded property in Thailand, following existing locations in Chiang Mai and Koh Samui.
