KOAY PENG YEN has been announced as the new Group Chief Executive Officer for Tiger Airways, effective 10 August 2012. Koay joins the low-cost carrier from his previous role as Executive Director of Pacific Carriers Ltd and PaxOcean Engineering Group. He also spent 18 years with NOL Group.
ALEXANDRA FITZPATRICK has been appointed as Travelport’s new General Manager for the Pacific region, based in Sydney. Ms Fitzpatrick arrives from London-based TMS Travel Management Solutions, but she previously worked for Galileo as Director of Distributor Sales.
LEE STEPHENS has been appointed General Manager of MSpa International, the wellness division of Thailand-based Minor Hotel Group. A UK national, Stephens has been based in Asia for nine years and previously served as Managing Director of Sol Spa Services, his own spa consultancy.
KEVIN LEONG has been named as the new General Manager of the Asia Cruise Association (ACA). Leong worked for the Singapore Tourism Board for 36 years, serving in a variety of area including marketing, MICE and events. He also spent eight years with the STB’s New York office.
MELPO WONG has been named as Kosmopolito Hotels International’s new Director of Distribution. Ms Wong arrives at Hong Kong-based KHI with 21 years’ experience, most recently as Senior Regional E-Marketing Manager for the Asia Pacific region at Sabre Hospitality Solutions.
TONY COUSENS has been appointed General Manager of Wyndham’s two new Singapore hotels – Days Hotel Singapore and Ramada Singapore, both of which will be at the new Zhongshan Park development. Cousens has 30 years’ experience in Asia, the Middle East and US.
STEVE JENNINGS has been announced as the new General Manager of The Haven Seminyak – the luxury resort in Bali managed by PHM Hospitality. An Australian national, Jennings arrives at The Haven from the Phan Tiet Beach Resort in Vietnam, where he was also GM.
SYAHREZA ISHAWARA has been named as the new General Manager of the Rayavadee resort in Krabi. An Indonesian national, Ishwara moves into the top role following an 18-month stint as the property’s Executive Assistant Manager. He previously had a 16-year career with Four Seasons.
DIDIER GOURMAUD has been appointed General Manager of the U Agathis Pecatu, Absolute Hotel Services’ new hotel in Bali. A French national, Gourmaud has worked with several hotel chains including IHG and Hilton, most recently as Resident Manager at the InterContinental Muscat.
MARC LANDGRAF has been appointed to oversee the management and operations of the Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort & Spa, which will rebranded as Outrigger Phi Phi Island Resort & Spa in November. Previously, Landgraf was GM of the Cape Panwa Hotel & Spa, Phuket.
TARIK TEMUCIN has been appointed as Hotel Manager at The Ritz-Carlton Sanya. A Turkish national, Temucin joined Ritz-Carlton in 2001 as Director of Banquets at The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul. Most recently he served as Executive Assistant Manager of F&B at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore.
OSCAR MARTINEZ has been announced as the new Director of Food & Beverage at The St Regis Tianjin. Mexican national Martinez joined Starwood in 2005 as a management trainee at The St Regis Beijing, and has since been promoted through the ranks to Director of F&B.
REX LOH has been announced as the new Director of Sales & Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia, Singapore. A Singaporean national, Loh has more than 13 years’ experience, including spells with Ritz-Carlton in Singapore and Sanya, and a stint with Shangri-La.
WANITCHAYA KIETDAMRONGWONG has been named as the new Business Development Director in charge of sales, marketing and PR at the Pullman Bangkok King Power hotel. Ms Wanitchaya has been with the hotel since 2007, when she joined as a member of the pre-opening team.
CHRISTIAN GURTNER has been appointed as Executive Assistant Manager of Food & Beverage at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia in Singapore. With more than 18 years’ experience in the US and Asia, Gurtner most recently served in the same position at The Grand Hyatt Singapore.
MARTIN RUSTEBERG has joined Thailand-based Boutique Hotel Management Asia (BHMAsia) as its new E-Business Manager. With 10 years’ hospitality experience, Rusteberg has worked for Rocco Forte, IHG and Hyatt in Europe and the Middle East, and arrives from Escapio in Germany.
SASIKARN PITARANGSI has become the new Online Sales Manager for Boutique Hotel Management Asia (BHMAsia). A graduate of Bangkok’s prestigious Assumption University, Ms Sasikarn previously worked for six years as a Distribution Executive at Six Senses Resorts & Spas.
SUPA-ARPHA “MANDY” ITTHIKAIWAN has been named as the new PR Manager for Boutique Hotel Management Asia (BHMAsia). A Thai national, Ms Supa-arpha has worked for several high-end hotel groups, including Bandara Hotels & Resorts where she was Assistant PR Manager.
