ED FULLER has been announced as the new President of California-based consultancy company Laguna Strategic Advisors. Fuller takes the new role having retired from Marriott International in 2011 following four decades of service, spearheading its international development.
JENS UWE PARKITNY has been named as Accor’s new Vice President of Digital Marketing & Distribution for the Asia Pacific. A German national, Parkitny is a trained journalist with experience in both online and offline publishing, specialising in travel and transport.
JAMES MACADIE has been appointed General Manager of Shanghai Marriott Hotel Pudong East, which is scheduled to open at the end of 2012. Macadie joined Marriott in 1989 and has worked across Europe and Asia, most recently as GM of the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Hongqiao.
ALEXANDRE GLAUSER has been named Cluster General Manager for Centara Hotels & Resorts in Sri Lanka. He will initially be responsible for two resorts – Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa and Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa. A third project is currently under development.
GILLES EVRARD has been appointed Hotel Manager of the Plaza Athénée Bangkok, A Royal Méridien Hotel. Evrard has more than 18 years’ experience in hospitality industry, specialising in F&B roles. He was previously Deputy GM of the Sheraton Sharm Hotel in Egypt.
TODD HANDY has been appointed General Manager of the East Hotel – a new design hotel in Canberra. An American national, Handy began his career with Four Seasons Resort in the US before moving to Australia to become Operations Manager at the Hotel Kurrajong.
KRISTY MARLAND has been announced as the new General Manager of the Blue Ocean Resort Mui Ne in Vietnam. An Australian national, Ms Marland brings more than 15 years’ experience to the role, most recently as General Manager at the Watermark Hotel in Nagasaki.
MARION ENDER has been named as the new Assistant Manager for the four-star Blue Ocean Resort in Mui Ne, Vietnam. A Swiss national and graduate of L’Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Ms Ender has previously worked at the Chedi Chiang Mai and Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa.
PETER CHAN has been appointed Director of Finance at the Auberge Discovery Bay in Hong Kong. Chan’s 30-year career started as a Financial Accountant at Hong Kong’s Excelsior Hotel, and has included stints at the Conrad Hong Kong and Grand Lisboa in Macau.
MARIANNA TANG has been named as the new Director of Sales and Marketing at the Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong. Ms Tang has worked at British Caledonian Airways and Swissair and more recently worked at Pan Pacific Hotels Group and The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong.
