Tim Brookes-Parry from Apex Travel and Christian Gleave from Review Travel have been elected as non-executive directors on the Advantage Travel Centres board. Jimmy Martin has also been re-elected on the board, joining Brookes-Parry as representing members with turnover less than £5m.Gleave represents all members regardless of turnover or genre.
Tom McCormick has been announced as purchasing director at The Monarch Travel Group. McCormick has been with the group for 14 years as head of purchasing, a role Neil Garner has now taken up. As part of the changes Graham Col, customer experience director, will lead the customer experience division.
Amanda Schofield has joined TravelCube UK as regional account manager for East Midlands and East Anglia. Schofield has more than 20 years’ travel experience most recently with three and a half years at Classic Collection Holidays. She was also previously at Travel Counsellors for four years.
Martine Gerow has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer at Carlson Wagonlit Travel. Gerow will take up the position in September this year from her current role as CF and EVP finance and purchasing at media service Solocal Groupe. She has also worked with PepsiCo and Groupe Danone.
Sean Brookes has been named hospitality operations director at Dominvs Group. Brookes joins the UK hotel operator to oversee its operational hotels and prepare for its five additions around Aberdeen, Manchester and London. Brookes was most recently group operators director for the St James Hotels group and was previously GM for Choice Quality Hotels in Norwich.
Alexa Sinzig-Mootoo has been appointed director of sales for Europe at The Small Maldives Island Co. Sinzig-Mootoo joins the company from Centara Hotels and Resorts and has also previously worked at Six Senses, Soneva and Airtours. She will head up the launch of Amilla Fushi in November and Finolhu in 2015 before being based in Frankfurt.
Douglas Martell has been named as Onyx Hospitality Group’s new executive vice president and chief operating officer. Martell joins the Thailand-based company with 25 years’ experience, 13 of which were spent with IHG, most recently as vice president of operations for Southwest Asia.
Abudlrahaman Al Busaidy has been appointed chief operating officer of Oman Air. Educated in the UK, Al Busaidy joined Oman Air in 2000 before moving to Jet Airways as chief strategy & planning officer. He was also responsible for the launch and expansion of Jet Airways’ Gulf operations.
Julia Rosamond has joined Travelodge as HR director. Rosamond joins the budget hotel chain after holding the same role at restaurant chain Nando’s. She joins Travelodge on 6 October with other experience including HR director at Pelican Group, the operator of Café Rouge and Dome.
