Rhian Herbert has joined Global Travel Group
Rhian Herbert has joined Global Travel Group

Rhian Herbert has been announced as head of business development at The Global Travel Group. In this newly-created role Herbert will streamline the company’s membership department and boost its service offerings. She joins from 18 years at the Co-operative Travel Group and Thomas Cook.

Lindsay Dixon has been appointed business development manager at Neilson. Dixon originally started her travel career in reservations at Neilson Ski in 1990 and has since worked for Disney Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruises, First Choice Holidays and TUI UK. She will work with travel agents and affinity sales.

Paul Sharp has been named business development manager at AmaWaterways. Sharp joins the cruise line from The River Cruise Line where he was head of sales. His previous roles also include sales for TUI and Carnival UK as well as shore excursions manager at P&O Cruises.

Lee Surman has joined Azamara Club Cruises’ UK team as strategic account manager. Suman will manage relationships with travel partners to maximise their growth potential. He has previously worked with Carnival UK and Princess Cruises.

Tish Stewart-Inglis has joined Ethos Marketing to oversee sales activity for Serena Luxury Collection in the UK. Stewart-Inglis joins the firm from Rani Resorts where she was most recently in international sales and marketing.

Andrea McKay has been appointed marketing director at The Hotel Collection. She joins from 10 years at Hilton and is also on the committee of the Hotel Marketing Association. The Hotel Collection has also appointed Peter Manby as operations director who previously worked for Travelodge, and Helen Smith joins from Menzies Hotels as HR director.

Andrew Coney has joined Belgraves, A Thompson Hotel as general manager. Coney joins the London hotel after opening the InterContinental London Westminster and has 25 years of experience. His previous roles have also been with Le Meridien and De Vere Hotels.

Frits Potgieter has been named as the new general manager of The Kensington Hotel. Potgieter joined The Doyle Collection in 2012 as the hotel manager of The Marylebone Hotel and has also worked with Red Carnation, The Milestone Hotels & Apartments and The Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel.

Steven McGovern has been named as the new director of sales and marketing at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel. McGovern has a strong commercial background and was global sales director of the year for Red Carnation Group in 2007 and 2012. He will lead the leisure, business and incentive strategies at the hotel, which is now part of Millennium & Copthorne’s Monogram Collection.

Duncan Alexander has been appointed vice president global alliances and partnerships at Illusions Online. Alexander joins the technology firm with more than 20 years of travel experience with Mercator, OAG, SITA and Travelport, as well as PwC and Logica.

Leire Bilbao has been named manager of the Visit Benidorm Tourist Board. Bilbao joins the tourist board from the Terra Natura theme park where she was head of marketing for 11 years. She has taken over the role from Yolanda Pickett Fernandez.

Mark Hutchinson is moving into the role of commercial & marketing director with Air Tahiti Nui. Hutchinson is currently the airline’s manager for Australia and New Zealand but will now move to Tahiti on 8 September. He was responsible for setting up Air Tahiti Nui’s operations in New Zealand in 2000.
