PHOEBE TEO has been announced as JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group’s new senior vice president of strategic advisory. Relocating from Singapore to Hong Kong, Ms Teo marks JLL’s first appointment in the city. She initially joined JLL Singapore in June 2000 and has also spent time working in Europe.
PHILIP YANG has been appointed chief financial officer of eLong, the Chinese online travel company. The move marks a promotion for Yang; he joined eLong in 2006 and has since worked in a number of financial roles, including internal audit director role and, most recently, chief accounting officer.
LILY JIANG has been appointed general manager of the new Haikou Marriott Hotel. One of very few Chinese women to have reached the level of GM with Marriott, Ms Jiang moves to the Hainan hotel from the Renaissance Wuhan. She has also worked as GM at a hotel and conference centre in Tianjin.
SEAN MENKE has been appointed executive vice president & chief operations officer for Hawaiian Airlines. Menke brings more than 20 years’ experience to the airline. He served as president & CEO of Pinnacle Airlines Corp and also held senior roles with Air Canada and United Airlines.
PIETER VAN DER HOEVEN has been promoted to the role of general manager of the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor and Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Cambodia. He has more than 25 years of experience in the hotel industry, including spells with Hyatt, Anantara, Peninsula, Six Senses and Outrigger.
JESPER VILSOE has been named as the new general manager at the Swissôtel Kunshan in China. The move marks a promotion for Vilsoe, who was formerly executive assistant manager of the property. A 19-year industry professional, he has also previously worked in Europe and the Middle East.
ALAN ROMAN has been announced Air Tahiti Nui’s new general manager for Australia & New Zealand. Roman brings 27 years’ experience in the Australasian aviation sector, most recently with Air New Zealand where he worked as manager for Fiji, French Polynesia and Western Australia.
THOMAS HEINRICH has become the new executive chef at the Swissôtel Sydney. An Australian national, Chef Thomas worked at the Four Seasons hotels in New York and Chicago before moving to Hyatt, where he was sous chef in Chicago and then executive chef at Hyatt Regency Vancouver.
AINSLIE HUNT has returned to travel recruitment company TMS Asia Pacific. An Australian national, Ms Hunt previously spent 10 years with TMS. She will now specialise in executive recruitment, industry-specific recruitment coaching, and candidate-client attraction and retention strategies.
