The latest industry appointments

Tim Williamson has joined Monarch Airlines as director of customer experience and marketing. Williamson will take up his new role on 1 July, having previously been a director at TUI Travel. Marisa Blasco is to join Monarch as director of revenue management and network development from Hertz. Adrian Tighe has also joined Monarch as director of commercial partnerships and business development. His previous roles include managing director of Transport and Borders and 18 years at British Airways.

Siria Nielsen has been appointed marketing development manager UK & Europe at Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Nielsen’s main responsibilities will include trade and consumer marketing initiatives including online training programmes, promotional tools and marketing support. She previously worked at Rocco Forte Hotels.

Vidar Engen has been named senior vice president for product and marketing at Hurtigruten ASA. Engen will take up his new role next month and joins the cruise line from Findus Norge where he has been managing director for two years. He previously worked at ICA Norge As where he is SVP commercial and marketing.

Gemma Royle has been promoted to group meetings & events and sales support manager at Jury’s Inn. In the newly-create role, Royle will be responsible for developing and training the hotel chain’s MICE coordinators and develop its MICE strategy.

Stephen Carter OBE and Mike Dickson have been named as shareholding directors at Scottish hotel management company Prestige Hotels. Carter brings more than 40 years hospitality experience to the board while Dickson has a background in mergers and acquisitions.
