The latest industry appointments

MICHAEL ONG has been announced as the new vice president of growth & development for Pan Pacific. A Singaporean national, Ong joins the hotel group with 20 years of experience in the hospitality, investment and banking sectors. He spent almost a decade with FRHI, rising to become vice president of development.

IAN CONNOLLY has been named chief development officer for Kerzner International, which operates the One&Only and Atlantis resort brands. Connolly joined Kerzner in 2005 as vice president of commercial and helped develop the Atlantis The Palm. In 2014, he was promoted to executive vice president of development & facilities.

IRENE SUNG has been appointed head of client development for TripAdvisor Asia Pacific. A Singaporean national, Ms Sung moves into the newly-created role from Google, where she was head of branding for Asia Pacific. She will now be responsible for devising business strategies for TripAdvisor Display Advertising.

PAUL MACPHERSON has become Kerzner International’s new executive vice president of global business & real estate development. He joins the company with 30 years’ experience in the hospitality and finance sectors. Most recently, he was president & managing director of Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants International.

ANGELINE LEE has been announced as Contiki‘s new director of sales & marketing for Asia. Ms Lee has extensive experience in various Southeast Asian markets, having worked in sales & marketing roles for companies including Forrester Research, Travelocity, TTG Asia Media and Cendant Travel Distribution Services.

GRAEME BACK has been appointed general manager of BreakFree on Cashel, Mantra Group‘s new hotel in Christchurch. He will join the hotel this month ahead of its opening in April. A New Zealand national, Back moves back to his home country from Fiji, where he currently manages the Beqa Lagoon Resort.
