KURT STRAUB has been announced as Hyatt’s new vice president of operations for India, based in Gurgaon. Straub moves to India with more than 20 years of experience with Hyatt in various countries. Most recently, he served as area vice president for the company’s full- and select-service hotels in Mexico.
AMIT ARORA has been named as Egencia’s new country director for India. Arora joins Expedia’s business travel unit with 17 years’ experience. He previously served as Etihad Airways’ head of commercial & operations for north and east India and head of client management at American Express Business Travel.
RAJ MENON has been named as Marriott International’s new chief operations officer for Southeast Asia & the Pacific. Menon first joined Marriott in 2001 and general manager of the Renaissance Mumbai, and for the past seven years he has been the group’s area vice president for South Asia.
RAJESH RAMDAS has been appointed general manager of the Hyatt Regency Ludhiana. Ramdas arrives with more than 20 years’ experience, having started his career as a management trainee with The Leela group in 1995. Most recently he served as executive assistant manager for rooms at the Hyatt Regency Mumbai.
SHUBHENDU KADAM has been appointed executive chef at the Alila Diwa Goa. Chef Shubhendu brings more than 18 years of experience to the role, having worked in hotels, resorts, casinos and on cruise ships. He is a Teppanyaki expert and also specialises in western, fine dining and seafood.
