VLAD REYES has been named as Pan Pacific‘s new area general manager for China and general manager of the Pan Pacific Suzhou. Under his regional role, Reyes will be responsible for Pan Pac’s four hotels in China. He has almost 40 years’ experience in the US, Maldives, Southeast Asia and China.
SOPHIA WU has been appointed executive vice president of finance for the China Lodging Group. She joined the fast-growing Chinese hotel group this month, having spent more than 14 years in the corporate finance sector, including spells with Deloitte & Touche and Goldman Sachs in New York.
MICHAEL BROOKS has been appointed general manager of the new Alila Anji in eastern China’s Zhejiang province. A South African national, Brooks has 40 years of hotel experience in Europe, Africa, Australia and China. In 2004, he became GM of The World, the island development in Dubai.
ELEANORE ASTIER-PETIN has become the pre-opening general manager of the new Alila Solo in Indonesia. A French national, Ms Astier-Petin has worked all over the world, from the Caribbean to French Polynesia, as well as Europe and Asia, including a spell at St Regis Bora Bora.
PIERRE LANG has been appointed general manager of the Alila Seminyak, Bali, which opens in September. A German national, Lang has worked for several high-end hotel brands, including Armani and Grand Hyatt, in a career that has taken him from Europe to the Middle East and the Maldives.
DAVID BALDWIN has been announced as the new general manager of the Alila SCBD Jakarta. A graduate of the prestigious Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, Baldwin has worked in the US and Asia with companies including Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental and Accor.
NONGLUCK NARKMAN has become the new director of sales & marketing at the Westin Grande Sukhumvit Hotel in Bangkok. Ms Nongluck, who officially starts her new role next month, has more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, including spells with Shangri-La, Hilton and Starwood.
DEBANJAN KUNDU has been named as the new director of sales & marketing for the Ritz-Carlton Bangalore. Kundu, who has more than 12 years of experience, joins Ritz-Carlton from his previous role as director of sales & marketing at the Sheraton Bangalore. He has also worked for Hyatt and Oberoi.
JOANNA ONG has become Hilton Worldwide’s new vice president of corporate communications for Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, Ms Ong joins Hilton with 18 years of experience. Most recently she served as Carlson Rezidor’s vice president of public relations & communications for Asia Pacific.
