GEORGE WEE has been promoted to the position of regional vice president for China with FRHI Hotels & Resorts. Wee will take on the new role in addition to his existing position as general manager of the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai. He first joined the company in 2013.
PAUL CUNNINGHAM has been appointed general manager of the St Regis Macao Cotai Central, which is set to open in the third quarter of 2015. Cunningham has more than 24 years of experience, including a decade with Starwood. Most recently he was general manager of the St Regis Tianjin.
TUNCAY BOCKIN has been appointed general manager of the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium. With a career spanning 25 years, Bockin has worked in the UK, Turkey, Romania, Azerbaijan, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam. He joined IHG in 1999 and most recently served as GM of the Crowne Plaza West Hanoi.
KYLIE-JANE MENZIES has been appointed director of trade & industry development for Destination NSW. She joins the state tourism board with two decades of travel and airline industry, including a 14-year spell with Qantas. Most recently she was the airline’s manager of sports sponsorships.
BRYAN CHIU has been promoted to the position of executive director of events at the InterContinental Hong Kong. Currently the hotel’s executive assistant manager, Chiu is a veteran of the hotel, having joined in 1988 when it was branded as The Regent Hong Kong. He became assistant manager in 2013.
DANIELLA TONETTO has been announced as the new general manager of sales & marketing for the St Regis Macao and Sheraton Macao Cotai Central. Her 20-year career with Starwood has included roles in Australia, Fiji and New Caledonia, most recently as regional director of sales & marketing for the Pacific.
ROXANNE MARKOVINA has become the new director of sales & marketing at the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium. She started as a management trainee with IHG and has since gathered 14 years’ experience in London and Australia. Previously, she was director of sales & marketing at Hyatt’s Andaz Liverpool Street London.
