SELINA CHAVRY has become Pacific World’s new global managing director, based in Singapore. The move marks a promotion for Ms Chavry, who previously served as the company’s regional director for Asia. The announcement coincides with the start of a major push for the global DMC into areas including India and China.
BADR ABBAS has been named as Emirates’ new senior vice president of commercial operations for the Far East. Abbas started his Emirates career as a trainee in 2000 and has since held positions in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Cyprus. Most recently he was vice president of commercial operations for the UAE & Oman.
ANUPAM BOKIL has been appointed vice president of technology for Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific. A 22-year Sabre veteran, Bokil previously opened the Sabre Airline Solutions office in Shanghai while serving as managing director responsible for regional delivery. Most recently he has been based in the US.
ANN-SOPHIE POUZIN has become director of sales, MICE, at the Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour. She started her career at The Great Wall Sheraton Beijing before moving to the Grand Hyatt at Oriental Plaza. She joins the Four Points as it prepares to launch its new convention centre in June 2016.
PETER YAP has been appointed as FastBooking’s new country manager for Thailand. Yap recently headed up the regional sales efforts in Asia for Revinate and before that led Cox and Kings’ operations in Asia. He has also worked for Pegasus Solutions, Millennium & Copthorne and Regent Singapore.
HELENE FONG has been appointed as the JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok’s new director of sales & marketing. Ms Fong moves to Bangkok from the JW Marriott Hong Kong, where she served as director of marketing since September 2012. She has previously worked in Thailand for Shangri-La in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
