The latest industry appointments

PERRY CANTARUTTI has become the new chief executive officer of SkyTeam, the global airline alliance. Cantarutti most recently spent five years with Delta Air Lines as senior vice president for the EMEA region. He takes over the CEO role from Michael Wisbrun, who now becomes SkyTeam’s chairman.

ROBIN ROSSMANN has been named managing director for STR Global, the hotel data benchmarking company. Rossmann will begin his new role on 1 January, taking over from Elizabeth Randall-Winkle, who now becomes chief strategy officer at STR. He has more than 13 years’ experience and joins STR Global from Deloitte.

NIAMH O’CONNELL has been appointed to the newly-created position of group vice president of wellness development for the Rosewood Hotel Group, overseeing the company’s global spa, wellness and recreation operations. An Irish national, Ms O’Connell most recently headed up Hyatt’s spa operations in China.

JYOTI KUMAR SARAF has been named as the new chief financial officer for eRevMax International, which provides technology and distribution solutions to the hotel industry. He initially joined the company in August as vice president of finance, following a 22-year career across multiple sectors.

PAUL STOCKER has been named as Oakwood Asia Pacific’s new vice president sales & marketing. He moves to the company’s Singapore office from Macau, where served as vice president of revenue management & sales for the Galaxy Entertainment Group. He has also worked for Marina Bay Sands.

JAMES WYNDHAM has been appointed general manager of the Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley, the luxury resort in Australia’s Blue Mountains. The move marks a promotion for Wyndham, who joined as resort manager earlier this year following his transfer from Atlantis The Palm in Dubai.

TAMIR KOBRIN has been announced as the new general manager of the Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort in Sri Lanka, which is scheduled to open next month. With more than 20 years of global hospitality experience, Kobrin most recently opened two Leela Palace Hotels in India, in Udaipur and Delhi.

JOHN ORNING has been appointed general manager of the Best Western Plus Oceanside Kawana Hotel, on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, which opens today. Orning has spent the last 20 years with Best Western, at hotels in Sweden and Australia. Most recently he was GM of the Best Western Plus Quarterdecks Retreat, Queensland.

RICCARDO GIACOMETTI has been named hotel manager of the St Regis Langkawi. A Swiss national, Giacometti moves to the Malaysian resort following a three-year tenure at Le Meridien Dom Hotel Cologne in Germany. His Starwood career started as a food & beverage management trainee in 2000.

ABHISHEK SINGH NEGI has been announced as the Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa’s new director of food & beverage. He brings 15 years’ experience to the resort, and returns to Starwood following a five-year period overseeing the F&B operations of hotels in Africa and the Indian Ocean.

PHOEBE BOONKERD has become the new wellness director at Amatara Resort & Wellness, the Thailand-based company that recently took over the running of the Regent Phuket Cape Panwa. She has 15 years’ experience, most recently at Asian spa operator Chiva Som.

VINCENT YANG has been appointed sales manager for Miners Hospitality. He has a decade of experience in hotel operations with brands including Radisson and Pan Pacific, and will now be based in Tianjin, tasked with driving sales among Chinese-speaking markets.
