SUPHAJEE SUTHUMPUN has been appointed as Dusit International’s new group chief executive officer. She becomes only the third CEO in the Thai hotel group’s 67-year history and the first from outside Dusit’s founding family. Ms Suphajee, who previously served as CEO of Thaicom, succeeds Chanin Donavanik.
ROGER CHEN has been announced as Carnival Corporation’s new chairman in China. A Chinese national, Chen will be based in Shanghai and will lead the company’s government relations and port development efforts. He brings 25 years of experience to Carnival, working for major global companies in China.
SHRIKANT SHENOY has been named as the Jumeirah Group’s new vice president of corporate strategy. He joins the Dubai-based hotel group from Dubai Holding, where he held the position of director of strategy development & deployment for almost six years. Shenoy is a graduate of Oxford University.
NICHOLAS EMERY has been appointed general manager of The Regent Beijing. A UK national, he has more than 20 years of luxury hotel experience, most recently as GM of the Renaissance Hotel TEDA in Tianjin. Prior to that he spent 11 years with Fairmont-Raffles Hotels International (FRHI).
ANNE ARROWSMITH has been named as the new general manager of the 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai, the luxury boutique hotel operated by SilverNeedle. Ms Arrowsmith has spent the majority of her career with Four Seasons in Asia and the US, including 11 years as director of marketing at the Four Seasons Singapore.
GRAHAM GRANT has become the new general manager of Six Senses Yao Noi, the luxury resort in southern Thailand. Grant joins the company having worked at several well-known luxury hotels and resorts, including The Leela Palace Udaipur, Hayman Island on the Great Barrier Reef and Palazzo Versace Gold Coast.
TOM THRUSSELL has become the new vice president of brand, marking & digital for Central Hospitality International (CHi), the new name for Centara. A UK national, Thrussell joins the Thai company with 10 years’ experience. Most recently he was director of marketing operations at the Maybourne Hotel Group.
JASON SHEK has been announced as the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong’s new director of marketing. He brings 19 years of experience to the luxury hotel, and most recently spent three years as director of sales & marketing at the Mandarin Oriental Macau. He has also worked for Banyan Tree.
CAMILLA CHIAM has become Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s new vice president of PR & communications for Asia Pacific. She joins the company’s Singapore-based team from Pontiac Land Group, where she served as head of group corporate communications. She has also worked for Jetstar Asia.
BEN WOOD has been named as JacTravel’s new head of sales for Asia Pacific. He moves to the company from Flight of the Gibbon, the Thailand-based adventure travel attraction, where he served as director of sales. Prior to this he worked in the UK for Hotelbeds and TUI Travel.
