TORSTEN EDENS has been appointed as Diethelm Travel’s new group operating director. Edens moves to the company’s Bangkok head office from his previous role as managing director for Diethelm Travel Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia. He has also worked for Kuoni and Albatros Travel.
JONATHAN HOWLETT has become TripAdvisor’s new vice president of global destination marketing. He moves into the newly-created role from comScore, the digital media analytics company, and has previous served as global director of advertising sales for BBC World News.
CHRISTINE TAYLOR has been named as Enterprise Holdings’ new executive vice president and chief operating officer, making her one of the highest ranking women in the global car rental industry. Ms Taylor was previous Enterprise’s SVP of North American operations, a position she held since 2013.
PATRICK CHASE has been announced as Abercrombie & Kent’s new director of sales for Southeast Asia. Chase joins the company with more than four years of experience in Southeast Asia, including a spell operating his own destination management company in Cambodia.
GORDON BELL has been named as the new head of Focus Asia’s Thailand division, based in Bangkok. An Australian national, Bell has been in Thailand for more than seven years and previously worked as director of sales for an international destination management company.
PATRICK MANTHE has been appointed general manager of Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok and Chatrium Residence Riverside Bangkok. A Swiss national, Manthe has almost 15 years’ experience with brands including Conrad and Movenpick. Most recently he was GM of the U Sathorn Bangkok.
ADRIAN EE has been appointed general manager of the Marriott Executive Apartments Sathorn Vista, Bangkok. Ee joined Marriott in 2010 as director of operations at the Marriott Putrajaya Hotel. He then moved to the Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur in September 2012 to take up the same role.
RUSSELL COOL has been named as the new area general manager of Stamford Hotels & Resorts in South Australia. He will now oversee both the Stamford Plaza Adelaide and Stamford Grand Adelaide hotels. Cool brings more than 22 years of experience to the role.
YVETTE PEVERELL has become InterContinental Hotel Group’s (IHG) new director of communications for Australasia & Japan. Ms Peverell has more than 15 years’ experience in travel-related PR roles, including spells with AccorHotels and, most recently, Australia’s Mantra Group.
RAYMOND TAN has been named as the Grand Hyatt Singapore’s new director of events. A seasoned MICE professional, Tan most recently served as director of MICE event services at Resorts World Sentosa, and also worked with the Singapore Indoor Stadium to stage the Singapore Youth Olympics.
ASKER SKAARUP BAY has been named as the Mövenpick Siam Hotel Pattaya’s new executive chef, overseeing the new hotel’s four F&B outlets. Chef Asker has previously worked at Westin, Jumeirah, Shangri-La and Leela hotels in Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
