WONG HONG has been named as Delta Air Lines’ new president for Greater China, overseeing China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Hong joins Delta from SATS where he served as executive vice president of food solutions, and he has previously worked for IATA and Singapore Airlines.
CHRISTOPHER STAFFORD has been appointed chief operating officer of 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts. A Swedish national, Stafford has 34 years’ experience in the hotel industry, most recently as SilverNeedle Hospitality’s vice president of hotel operations for Southeast Asia.
ESMOND WONG has become 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts’ new director of projects. A Canadian national, Wong moved to Thailand in 1999 as managing director of Tribeca Solutions. He went on to work for the company that operates Bed Supperclub, followed by SilverNeedle Hospitality.
INGO DOMASCHKE has been named general manager of the Amari Koh Samui. With a 20-year career, Domaschke has worked in Europe, the US and Asia. He joined Onyx Hospitality Group in 2008, working at Amari hotels in Bangkok before becoming GM of the Ozo Chaweng Samui in 2014.
MANFRED ILG has been announced as the new general manager of the U Sathorn Bangkok. A German national, Ilg has extensive experience in Southeast Asia including spells in Laos and Cambodia. Most recently he was GM of the 137 Pillars House in Chiang Mai.
ALICIA TOO has been appointed general manager of the Lanson Place Hotel, Hong Kong. Ms Too joins the hotel following a 25-year stint with Mandarin Oriental in Greater China. Most recently she served as pre-opening hotel manager for the Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou.
NUENGRUETHAI SA-NGUANSAKPAKDEE has become 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts’ new group director of marketing. A Thai national, she joins the company from the Sheraton Samui Resort where she served director of sales & marketing. She has also worked for Regent and Anantara.
VITTORIO BERTINI has been appointed executive chef and director of F&B at the Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok. An Italian national, Chef Vittorio’s culinary career began in Europe and he later served as chef de cuisine and hotel school teacher in Switzerland for three years. He speaks seven languages.
