JOHN BRUNS has been named as the new president of Boeing China, effective 1 July. He will be based in Beijing. A company veteran, Bruns initially joined McDonnell Douglas in 1986 and moved to China in 1994. Most recently he served as Boeing’s senior sales director for Northeast Asia.

ARNOLD CHENG has been named as Cathay Pacific’s new director of corporate affairs, effective 11 July. Cheng has worked for the airline since 1992, holding a variety of roles in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Indonesia and Vietnam. Most recently he was general manager of sales for the Pearl River Delta.

ANDREW JONES has been elected chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s (PATA) executive board, replacing Kevin Murphy. Jones has worked in the travel industry for 45 years, mainly in the hotel sector. In 1996 he founded Sanctuary Resorts and remains the company’s “guardian”.

MAURIZIO BISICKY has been appointed as Anantara Vacation Club’s new senior vice president of sales & marketing. He brings more than a decade of hospitality experience to the role, including a spell as regional vice president of sales & marketing for Marriott Vacations Worldwide.

MOHAMMAD SARHAN has been named as Emirates’ new area manager for Thailand & Indochina. He brings more than 10 years of aviation industry experience to the role, most recently serving as the Dubai-based airline’s country manager for Vietnam. He will now be based in Bangkok.

NICOLE CHERAMIE has been announced as the InterContinental Sydney’s new director of meetings & events. The move marks a promotion for Ms Cheramie, who previous held the position of meetings & events manager at the hotel. Prior to IHG, she held several roles in her native US.

JENNIFER OBREGON has become the new director of human resources for the Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort. A qualified scuba rescue diver, Ms Obregon joins Outrigger from Viceroy Resorts, and has also worked for Four Seasons, Shangri-La and Taj Hotels in the Maldives.
