KATHLEEN TAN has been named as AirAsia’s president for North Asia. Returning to the LCC following a stint as CEO of AirAsia-Expedia, she will now be tasked with building AirAsia’s market in Greater China, Japan and Korea. Until 2014 she served as the low-cost carrier’s senior vice president for China.
PAULO CESAR DE SOUZA E SILVA has been named as Embraer’s new CEO, effective July 2016. He moves into the top job at the Brazilian aircraft company from his current role as president & CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation. Silva replaces Frederico Fleury Curado who retires after 32 years at Embraer.
DAVER KA FAI LAU has become Sabre Travel Network’s new regional director for North Asia, covering China, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan. A veteran of the travel technology and GDS sectors, Lau has spent 19 years in the industry, most recently as general manager of Amadeus Taiwan.
JASON LEUNG has been appointed general manager of the new Le Meridien Singapore Sentosa, which opened this month. Leung has 14 years’ experience, including spells at the Four Points by Sheraton Darling Harbour and Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali, where he served as hotel manager.
CHRISTIAN PODA has been appointed general manager of the new Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta. A German national, Poda started his Four Seasons career in Berlin before moving to San Francisco. He moved to Asia in 2007 and most recently served as hotel manager at Four Seasons Shanghai Pudong.
PETER POTTINGA has been announced as the new general manager of the Harbour Grand Kowloon. A Dutch national, he joins the Hong Kong hotel from IHG, where he held various roles in the Netherlands, US, UK, Slovakia and China. Most recently he was GM of the Crowne Plaza in Shenzhen.
SIM KOK CHUAN has become the new executive assistant manager of the Carlton Hotel Singapore. He brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience to the hotel, including postings in Singapore and China. Most recently Sim was resident manager at the InterContinental Nanjing.
LIM EE JIN has become the new area director of marketing & communications for IHG Singapore. Ms Lim will now take on a dual role, in addition to her responsibilities at the InterContinental Singapore, where she has spent the last two years. She previously worked for Fairmont-Swissotel in Singapore.
