DOUG ANDERSON has been named CEO of American Express Global Business Travel (GBT). He arrives with more than 30 years of global management experience, the last nine of which were spent as president & CEO of Carlson Wagonlit Travel. GBT was spun off from American Express just over two years ago.

JULIA HAYWOOD has been announced as United Airlines’ new executive vice president & chief commercial officer. She joins the US carrier from the Boston Consulting Group, where she served as partner and managing director. She has also held several roles with the International Olympic Committee.

VOLKERT GEERTSEN has become Sala Hospitality Group’s new cluster general manager, responsible for all of the company’s boutique hotels in Thailand. He joins from the Anantara Bangkok Riverside where he spent almost five years, and he also had a long stint with Starwood in Asia and Europe.

CLIVE MURRAY is IHG’s new area general manager for Malaysia & Batam and GM of the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur. With 26 years’ experience, Murray was most recently GM of the Radisson Blu Shanghai New World. An Australian national, he has also previously worked in Japan.

JONG RAE KIM has become Korean Air’s new regional manager for the UK & Ireland, based in London. Kim has been with Korean Air since 1996 and previously served at the airline’s regional cargo sales office in Seoul and at its regional office in Guangzhou, where he learnt to speak Chinese.

RHYS CHALLENGER has been named general manager of the new Mercure Singapore Bugis. Having worked with AccorHotels 1996, Challenger has held various roles at hotels in New Zealand, Australia and Fiji, prior to taking on his first general manager role at Mercure Nadi in February 2008.

JOHN ALLANSON has been appointed general manager of the Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort, effective immediately. A UK national, Allanson brings 30 years’ experience to Outrigger, having worked at hotels in the Maldives, Vietnam and UK. Most recently he was GM of the Six Senses Con Dao, Vietnam.

NICHOLAS JUETT has been confirmed as the new general manager at the Six Senses Con Dao. A UK national, he moves to the Vietnamese island resort from Turkey where he was GM of the Amanruya resort. Juett has also worked in Barbados, Fiji, Singapore and the Philippines.

ANTONIO TEIJEIRO has been announced as Marco Polo Hotels’ new group director of rooms. A Spanish national, Teijeiro has worked for hotels across China, the UAE, Canada, Portugal and Spain. His most recent position was GM of the Wanda Vista Resort in Xishuangbanna, China.

JUDY KOH has been announced as Pan Pacific Singapore’s new director of sales & marketing. With more than 20 years of experience, Ms Koh has previously worked for luxury hotels including the Conrad Centennial Singapore, Fairmont Singapore and Swissotel the Stamford.

TARA NGUYEN has been appointed executive assistant manager of the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur. A US national, Ms Nguyen moves to Malaysia from Laos, where she was part of the pre-opening team for the new Crowne Plaza Vientiane. Prior to that she worked for IHG in Vietnam.

I WAYAN SUWASTANA will lead the pre-opening sales & marketing team at Mövenpick Resort and Spa Jimbaran Bali, which is scheduled to open in November. He joins the Swiss hotel group with almost 20 years of experience, including spells at several luxury hotels across his native Indonesia.
