PETER SEAH will succeed Stephen Lee Ching Yen as chairman of Singapore Airlines. Currently deputy chairman, Seah will take over the top role on 1 January 2017. A banker for more than 30 years, Seah spent 24 years with Overseas Union Bank, retiring in 2001 as vice chairman and CEO.
MATT O’KEEFE has been named as Carlson Wagonlit Travel’s (CWT) chief technology officer for hotel distribution. O’Keefe brings 20 years of technology and software experience to the travel management company, most recently spending three years as chief technology officer for Hyatt.
DAVID SPOONER has been named as Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ new executive vice president for Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. He previously worked for several luxury hotel brands including Sanctuary Retreats, One&Only, Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons and, most recently, Banyan Tree.
ROMAIN CHAN has been appointed as Pan Pacific’s area general manager for China and GM of the Pan Pacific Suzhou. In the broader role, he will oversee the company’s four properties in Suzhou, Tianjin, Xiamen and Ningbo. Chan has 30 years’ experience, including spells with Hilton and Shangri-La.
BRUNO MAMMONE has been promoted to the role of director of operations with ICS Travel Group. Based in Bangkok, Mammone will oversee the company’s operations in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Indonesia. Prior to ICS he spent seven years in the travel industry.
PHUNSIRI SUVANIJ has been announced as ICS Travel Group’s new country manager for Laos. Based in Vientiane, Ms Phunsiri will now oversee the management of the company’s teams in the Lao capital and in Luang Prabang. She has previously spent 15 years with ICS in several management roles.
COLIN McCANDLESS has become the new general manager of the InterContinental Hanoi Westlake. With 16 years of experience across Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Vietnam, McCandless moves back to Southeast Asia following an earlier spell as GM of the InterContinental Nha Trang.
PATITTA CHININ has become the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit’s new senior director of sales for corporate, leisure and MICE. A Thai national, Ms Patitta has many years of hospitality experience, most recently as director of sales & marketing at Movenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok.
