The latest industry appointments

ROB GREEN has been named as HomeAway’s new head of sales for Asia. Previously overseeing the commercial and operations teams for leading travel companies, Green will now be tasked with directing all sales activities across HomeAway’s portfolio in Asia.

ADIEL MAMBARA has been promoted to the role of UK country manager with Royal Brunei Airlines. Formerly the company’s sales & marketing manager, Mambara was instrumental in growing Royal Brunei’s business class sales, including the launch of a product designed specifically for SMEs.

TRACI MERCER has been named as Sabre’s new senior vice president of hotel, car, cruise & rail. She arrives at the travel technology company from Hootsuite Media, and previously spent 10 years at Expedia, where she held a series of senior roles in North America and Asia Pacific.

DENNIS VAN NOORD has been recruited as HomeAway’s new head of business development & partnerships (emerging markets), based in Singapore. He joins the company with nearly 13 years, most recently as Booking.com’s regional director of strategic partnerships for Asia Pacific.

NICK DOWNING has been appointed general manager of The Siam Bangkok. He joins the luxury hotel with more than 25 years’ experience, including spells with luxury resorts such as the W Retreat Koh Samui, Soneva Gili and Palazzo Versace. Most recently he was vice president at Per Aquum.

DUNCAN MACLEAN has been named general manager of The Anam, the Vietnamese beachfront hotel. MacLean’s career started in 1975 with IHG in the UK and he has since worked in destinations as diverse as Myanmar, Afghanistan and East Timor. He moves to The Anam from Furama Danang.

TIMO KUENZLI has joined Cape & Kantary Hotels as general manager of the Cape Kudu Hotel, the new resort on Koh Yao Noi, Thailand. A Swiss national, Kuenzli worked at hotels in his home country, China and Thailand, including a spell as resident manager at the Cape House, Bangkok.

CALVIN LOU has been named as the new general manager of the Aloft Taipei Beitou, which is scheduled to open in January. An experienced hotelier, Lou joined the Four Points Sheraton Taipei Zhonghe in 2014. Prior to this, he was director of rooms at the RSL Cold & Hot Springs Resort Suao.

BENNY CHUNG has become the new general manager of the Parkroyal on Kitchener Road, Singapore. A Singaporean national, he brings three decades of experience to the role. This career has included spells with Hyatt, IHG, Mandarin Oriental and Langham in Singapore and China.

CORINNE JANSSEN has been announced as the new cluster director of sales & marketing for three Marriott hotels in Thailand: Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok, Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa and Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas. She previously served as director of sales for Starwood in Macau.
