The latest industry appointments

IAN THOMAS has been announced as the new president of Boeing China. Thomas, who has served as president of Boeing Australia & South Pacific for the past five years, will now move to the planemaker’s Chinese headquarters in Beijing. He succeeds Mark Allen, who moves to Boeing Capital.

JO TUAMOTO has become the new chief executive officer of the Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau. The former head of Tourism Fiji, Tuamoto was responsible for the country’s ‘Fiji Me’ marketing campaign. He had also had commercial experience a director of operations with Fiji-based Blue Lagoon Cruises.

CLIVE VAN DEVENTER has become the new general manager of Accor Vacation Club in Asia. Based at the company’s main sales centre at the Novotel Nusa Dua Bali, van Deventer will be tasked with expanding the timeshare company across Southeast Asia. He has 18 years’ experience with blue chip companies.

PAM CABRERA has become the new direct of sales & marketing for Outrigger’s condominium resort division. She moves to the role from the Outrigger Luana Waikiki, where she was GM. This marks the latest stage in Ms Cabrera’s 24-year career with Outrigger, which she joined as an intern in 1990.

PHILIPP FRICKHINGER has been announced as the new general manager of The Sukosol Bangkok. Previously of the Cape Panwa Hotel in Phuket, Frickhinger joined The Sukosol as resident manager in August 2013 and now takes charge of the hotel following its recent refurbishment.

NEIL SHORTHOUSE has been appointed to the position of corporate director of human resources at Six Senses Hotels Resorts & Spas. He arrives at the company’s Bangkok head office from the Soneva Fushi resort in the Maldives, and has also worked for Anantara, Fred Olsen Cruises and Constance Hotels.

FABRICE LEHMANN has been named as the new deputy general manager for two properties in Laos – the Villa Maly Boutique Hotel and Kamu Lodge Experience. Having worked in Chile, Monaco and Mauritius, Lehmann became assistant operations manager at the Villa Maly in 2012.

REX LOH has joined the InterContinental Singapore as director of sales & marketing. He joins from the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore, where he had worked since 2003. In total, Loh brings more than 15 years of experience to the new role, including a spell with Shangri-La Singapore.

SANGKOM NASUAN has been appointed as the new director of sales & marketing at the Ambassador Hotel Bangkok. He joins with more than 22 years’ experience, including spells with the Accor and Marriott, plus Thai hotels including The Emerald Bangkok, Montien Pattaya and Siam City Hotel.

ALISTAIR CARTER has been named as the new executive chef at the Dusit Thani Pattaya. A British national, Chef Alistair has more than 22 years of culinary experience in locations as diverse as Monaco, Macau, Bangkok and Cairo. He was previously chef at the Fairmont Heliopolis & Towers in Egypt.
