Antony Price has been appointed general manager UK & Europe at Air New Zealand. Price previously worked for the airline in Los Angeles focused on the Americas market. Prior to joining Air New Zealand he spent 12 years at British Airways in a range of sales, management and IT roles.
Julia Gajcak has been named vice president of marketing and communications at Six Senses Hotels, Resorts and Spas. Gajcak joins the hotel group from The Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts where she was VP corporate communications and global marketing. Her previous roles also include time with Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons.
Joe Sutcliffe has joined Wendy Wu Tours as head of product and marketing. Sutcliffe previously worked in a similar role for Bridge The World, working closely with the STA team to develop product in Asia and Africa, as well as with more marketing budget. At Wendy Wu he will work closely with Laurence Hicks and Ben Briggs.
Alex Gisbert has moved from his role of managing director international business to group chief marketing officer at the lowcosttravelgroup. Gisbert will continue to run sales and marketing for the group from Mallorca. His previous roles include positions at Expedia, Opodo and Thomas Cook.
Patrick McCall and Martin Griffiths are to lead Virgin Rail Group after its current management team announced their retirement. Joint executive chairmen McCall and Griffiths are to lead the rail company both with more than 10 years’ experience at the company. In addition, Phil Wittingham has been made lead executive and Phil Bearpack has become director operations and customer service.
Tony Lloyd has been appointed account director at AMG Ltd to oversee two new clients. Lloyd has left TUI as regional purchasing manager to join AMG, where he will look after the Asia Reps and Focus Asia accounts. Former Consolidated PR’s Samantha Darlaston has also joined AMG as interim marketing and PR manager, covering maternity leave.
Boet Kreiken has been made president of the European Regions Airline Association (ERA). Kreiken, who is managing director of KLM Cityhopper, has been elected alongside the re-elected vice president Martin Isler from the Luxair Group. Bernard Lavelle from London City Airport is also now on ERA’s board.
José Asenjo Vera has been named as the new general manager at La Manga Club. Vera joins the Spanish hotel from being CEO of Warner Park in Madrid and will now implement the forward strategy of the Murcia resort.
Michael Posch has been appointed general manager of the new Regent Porto Montenegro. Posch is to leave the Leonardo Royal Hotel Berlin Alexanderplatz this month to take up the new role, ahead of the hotel’s opening next year. Posch oversaw the opening of his current hotel and was also responsible for the sale of Estrel Hotel Berlin.
Georgette Davey has been named Dean of the Glion Institute of Higher Education (GIHE)’s first UK campus. Davey has been joined by Liza Humphrey as campus director at the hospitality management education centre. Both have previously worked for hospitality schools in Europe.
