Theme park in Sindhudurg

In a bid to develop the tourism potential of Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, tourism minister Chhagan Bhujbal and industries minister Narayan Rane made a presentation to the cabinet on setting up a theme park and its potential to generate tourism revenue and employment in the region. The theme park will offer a dolphin stadium, themed restaurants, water sports facilities and an underwater studio from within which people can watch sea creatures in their natural habitat, reported DNA. The project will be a private-public partnership and require about 500-600 acres of land with an investment of about INR400 crore where the state government will provide viability gap funding of INR100 crore.
