Thomson Cruises boss Fraser Ellacott is to take up more responsibility at the group in a new role.
Ellacott, who has been managing director at Thomson and Island Cruises since 2011, is to join the TUI UK & Ireland board on 1 October and will become its first customer operations director.
In the newly-created position Ellacott will be responsible for all customer facing areas of TUI in the UK and Ireland including retail, financial services, contact centres, overseas holiday experience, commercial and ancillaries and the property portfolio.
He will retain his cruise responsibilities.
“Consistent delivery of outstanding customer service at every touch point is crucial to the success of our business and therefore we’ve taken the decision to bring all customer facing roles together in a dedicated customer operation team. I’m pleased to confirm that Fraser Ellacott will take responsibility for this team,” said TUI UK & Ireland managing director David Burling.
“Over the last two years, Fraser has successfully developed the brand strategy for Thomson Cruises and grown the profitability of this area of our business and moving forward he will be instrumental in the growth of our multi-channel customer proposition,” he added.
Ellacott first joined TUI at First Choice Holidays in 2005 and became a director of Thomson Airways in 2007 before fronting the cruise division from 2011. He previously spent 15 years at British Airways.
