The first quarter of 2016 has panned out well for Tourico Holidays in the Middle East.
The global wholesale travel brokerage revealed a significant increase in Middle Eastern travel activity. According to the company’s year-over-year booking data, the region has increased its inbound travel by approximately 20% and its outbound travel by nearly 25%, compared to first quarter of 2015. As a result of this growth, Tourico has identified the Middle East as a region of emphasis, signing agreements with new distribution clients and hotel suppliers in key markets.
“With additional flight routes, attractions, and new hotels popping up throughout the Middle East, we see a market that has tremendous room for growth – unmatched by few regions throughout the world,” said Jonathan Ming, director of Middle Eastern and African Product for Tourico Holidays. “We are making a strong push to sign new hotel contracts and add local resources intended to help our current distribution partners succeed.”
According to Tourico’s hotel booking data, the top source market for the Middle East is China with a 300% year-over-year growth. China is followed by the United Kingdom, the United States, India, and UAE.
