Tourism chief pleads not guilty to graft charge

Tourism Malaysia Director-General Mirza Mohammad Taiyab has pleaded not guilty to a charge of accepting a bribe, a Bernama report said. According to the report, he is alleged to have accepted the bribe from a director of an advertising consultant for Mirza’s dental treatment worth at MYR13,860 (US$4,190).
It was alleged to have taken place in 2005 when he was Tourism Malaysia’s Deputy Director-General. The case would be heard in court in February next year, the report said.
