Tourism in Qatar gets a boost in Eid

Qatar Tourism Authority engaged families in Qatar and from around the GCC during the Eid-al-Fitr Festivals The country witnessed Nearly 75,000 visitors from the GCC during the celebrations at Doha Exhibition Center, malls, Katara Cultural Village, Souq Waqif, museums, Aquapark, The Pearl as well as at other locations.

Hend Zainal, head of marketing and PR at Qatar Tourism Authority said:  “The seasonal festivals are part of QTA’s efforts to stimulate tourism industry as a driver of economic diversification and solidify Qatar’s reputation as a preferred family destination in the region. We expect visitors will have experienced something new in Qatar and will return throughout the year.”

Zainal explained that hotel occupancy rates during Eid in Qatar hit more than 80% in many hotels, with some recording 100% occupancy.
