Tourism in Seychelles is witnessing a positive surge with growth figures up for October 2015.

According to statistics. The month of October 2015 recorded a total number of 27,477 tourists which shows an increase of 18% over October 2014.

The record number is a vindication of the country’s tourism strategy of diversifying its source markets into the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Far East while at the same time continuing to nurture its core, traditional markets in Europe.

Sherin Naiken, CEO of the Tourism Board and her team are responsible to market Seychelles. The Seychelles Tourism Board’s policy are linked with Seychelles’ aggressive pursuit of enhanced air connectivity.

Figures indicate a strong revival in the European segment with France as the market leader so far in 2015 with just over 31,000 visitors followed by Germany with 30,000, Italy with just under 19,000 and the UK and Eire with 14,000 visitors so far in 2015.

At the same time, Seychelles’ newer markets are showing strength in numbers from UAE and China with 17,124 and nearly 13,000 for year-to-date.

Seychelles’ tourism reported a nine percent growth in October arrivals primarily from holiday makers, spending an average of 8.9 nights.
