Tourism New Zealand has launched a new campaign designed to promote coach touring across the country.
The ‘Every day a different journey’ campaign will focus on Australians tourists, including “silver surfers”, with an advertising campaign enticing people to cross the Tasman and tour New Zealand’s North and South Island by coach.
“New Zealand is one of the most picturesque countries and to see it by coach is both seamless and memorable,” said Tourism New Zealand’s general manager for Australia, Tony Saunders.
“Our campaign activity includes television advertising, a 16-page Fairfax Coach travel supplementary and bespoke online campaign hub on Tourism New Zealand’s consumer website,” he added.
Visitor arrivals from Australia jumped 7.5% in the year ending May 2014, with those choosing a coach touring holiday comprising 4.5% of New Zealand’s total leisure arrivals. Coach arrivals also contribute to increased hotel room nights during the off-peak season, according to Saunders.
“Coach touring offers Australians a way to experience the real New Zealand and is a highly valuable sector as visitors stay longer and spend more whilst in the country. Not only does Coach touring provide carefully crafted itineraries but it covers a range of fascinating regions that include unforgettable experiences,” he added.
Australia’s major coach partners including AAT Kings, ANZCRO, APT, Evergreen Tours, Grand Pacific Tours, Kirra Tours, Scenic Tours and Travelmarvel will support the campaign with special offers.
