Tourism New Zealand (NZ) has decided to diversify its offering in the Indian market. The country’s tourism board will now expand its focus to include the business events sector including meetings, conferences, events, and incentives.
Commenting on the move to expand its target audience, the tourism board’s Regional Manager for South and Southeast Asia, Mischa Mannix-Opie said; “Tourism New Zealand has developed a Business Events Strategy in the last 12 months and this is now being implemented in key markets around the globe. India has been highlighted as a key market in this strategy that provides strong opportunities for New Zealand.”
New Zealand has mainly focused on the Indian leisure segment in the past. The destination received more than 28,500 Indian visitors in the year ending February 2012.
