Travel Daily’s travel industry networking event, Thirsty Thursday, will turn into a truly global gathering in the coming weeks, with seven events being held in the space of 15 days on three continents.

Almost 1,000 travel industry members are expected to gather at tomorrow night’s Travel Daily Thirsty Thursday events in Kuala Lumpur, London and Shanghai, while the Bangkok, Cardiff and Dubai editions will follow a week later on Thursday 28 June. Then on 5 July, Travel Daily Thirsty Thursday will arrive in Kolkata for the first time. Guests at all the events can expect the usual mix of free food and drink, fantastic prize draws and excellent networking opportunities.

Commenting on the global popularity of the events, Travel Daily Media Group’s managing director Gary Marshall said; “Travel Daily Thirsty Thursday has become a regular fixture on the travel trade social scene for several years now, and the fact that we have now expanded to seven events across the world is testament to its popularity. The events are all about bringing people together in a relaxed, fun and friendly atmosphere, and maybe doing a little business along the way. I’m delighted that our partners in all seven cities – Bangkok, Cardiff, Dubai, Kolkata, KL, London and Shanghai – have embraced the concept so warmly”.

Tomorrow will mark Travel Daily Thirsty Thursday’s debut in Kuala Lumpur. An estimated 150 travel trade members are expected to gather together at the Novotel Kuala Lumpur City Centre’s Spiral Lounge from 7pm tonight, marking the start of a new era for the city’s social scene.

In Shanghai, tomorrow night’s event will be held at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Luwan, while London’s travel trade will gather at the Jewel Bar Piccadilly.

Next week the fun continues at the famed Trader Vic’s restaurant at the Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort, the Media Rotana Hotel in Dubai and at the Yard Bar & Kitchen in Cardiff, and next month the luxury surroundings of the Swissotel Kolkata will play host to the Indian city’s first ever Thirsty Thursday.

Travel Daily would like to thank all our hosts, sponsors and of course, all our guests, for making this event such an amazing success!
