Travel Daily Media is delighted to be hosting a celebration to mark John McEwan’s 50 years in the travel industry.
The event will be held on 9 October at the Charing Cross Hotel with 200 of the industry’s most senior leading figures to celebrate the career of one of the most influential and much respected men in the sector.
Since joining a retail agency at 16, McEwan’s roles have included stints at Thomas Cook, Lunn Poly and Advantage Travel Centres.
He is now chairman of travel agency Holidaysplease and deputy chairman of People 1st after retiring from his role of CEO at Advantage Travel Centres in April 2013.
“I am honoured and humbled that Travel Daily is hosting this event to mark my career. I can’t believe it has been 50 years and it is a credit those that I have worked with that it feels like a much shorter time,” said McEwan. “I am looking forward to the event and to raising a glass to many of my closest friends and supporters!”,
The event will also continue the relationship between McEwan and Travel Daily, which includes a monthly column in Travel Daily UK.
Travel Daily Media’s managing director and publisher Gary Marshall added: “Travel Daily is delighted to be supporting this prestigious event commemorating John’s 50 years in the industry. He is not only a much loved personality in our industry but a very respected and admired figurehead and we are delighted to be bringing the industry together to acknowledge this.
