Travel Tours, the flagship leisure travel brand of FCM Travel Solutions, the Indian subsidiary of Flight Centre Travel Group Australia, opened its first retail store at one of India’s ‘smart cities’ – Coimbatore.

This is Travel Tours’ third store in Tamil Nadu after Chennai, expanding the brand’s presence in key cities and taking the overall footprint to 29 stores across India.

Catering to the avid demands of Indian travellers in pricing and quality, Travel Tours’ new store in Coimbatore offers both customised vacations and group holiday packages.

The services include flights, hotels, holidays, visa assistance, foreign exchange, tailormade / Fully Independent Traveller (FIT) and Group Inclusive Tour (GIT) packages, cruise vacations, themed holidays such as honeymoon, adventure, culinary and more. Spread over 431 sqft at R.S. Puram, the store is one-stop-travel-shop providing the unchanged premium service quality that has been consistently associated with Travel Tours.

At Travel Tours, South India contributes 61% to the overall Leisure Travel and Ticketing segment. Catering to various industries, two operational SEZs (Special Economic Zone) with five more in pipeline and plans to set up an electronics and software cluster spread across 157 acres, Coimbatore is also one of the hundred cities to be part of Indian Government’s Smart Cities Mission that promises fast development. The Tier II city provides a conducive environment for business and economy to grow, deeming fit to augment Travel Tours’ presence.

“Impressive double-digit growth over the previous financial year”

Speaking at the launch, Shravan Gupta, director, FCM Travel Solutions India, said, “Increasing footprint in Southern market as well as tier-II cities is paramount to us to ensure penetration in deeper pockets of India – vital to our strategic intent of Pan-India expansion. Coimbatore promises high-potential as the economy is strong; and the market is both affluent and untapped.

“With increasing interest from smaller cities led by access to high-speed internet and growing millennial population, travel is one of the biggest spends. With our distinct and innovative consumer centric products and services witnessing a strong uptake, our Leisure Travel business is already seeing an impressive double-digit growth over the previous financial year.”

Travel Tours currently operates in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi via a combination of owned branches and newly opened franchise outlets.
