TripAdvisor has expanded the ‘Instant Booking’ initiative, making it available in India for the first time.
The concept, which allows users to book hotels without leaving the TripAdvisor site, was initially rolled out in the US and UK.
But now, TripAdvisor has embarked on a major expansion of the programme to nine more English-speaking markets, including India. Visitors to tripadvisor.in will now be able to book hotels within their TripAdvisor listing pages.
The initiative has also been rolled out to Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland and South Africa.
“We’re excited to help even more travellers around the world conveniently plan and book the perfect trip on our site as we rollout instant booking to more global markets,” said Stephen Kaufer, president & CEO of TripAdvisor. “The momentum we’re building is remarkable and we look forward to continuing our expansion throughout 2016 with the help of our trusted partners.”
TripAdvisor’s partnership with Priceline Group, announced in October 2015, and the subsequent integration of its Booking.com inventory, have helped accelerate TripAdvisor’s Instant Booking expansion. TripAdvisor says it is now working to integrate inventory from other partners, including OTAs and hotel groups.
Hotels available for Instant Booking will display a “book” button on their page. Users will be able to find rates and book the hotel from a third party site, while staying on the hotel listing page.
