TripAdvisor personalises hotel recommendations

TripAdvisor has launched a new initiative designed to offer personalised hotel recommendations for travellers.
The ‘Just for You’ feature is intended to offer hotel options based on a user’s preferences and search history.
When travellers search hotels for a particular destination, they will be presented with a variety of tags allowing them to select their travel preferences, such as location, price range, hotel class, amenities and brand. The new ‘Just for You’ feature will take these preferences into account, along with the traveller’s prior searches and contributions on the site, in an effort to provide more tailored search results.
“By virtue of the insights and attributes that we’ve gathered from millions of traveller reviews and opinions, TripAdvisor is uniquely able to match visitors with their ideal hotels,” said Adam Medros, senior vice president of global product for TripAdvisor.
“The new ‘Just for You’ feature is the evolution of hotel search on TripAdvisor and a natural extension of our on-going efforts to make every travel-planning experience more helpful and personally relevant for our users.”
‘Just for You’ is available on all TripAdvisor-branded sites, and the TripAdvisor mobile website for tablet devices. The company plans to roll out the feature to additional platforms in future.
