The Chinese province of Anhui how has 1,500 more international hotel rooms, following the launch of three new properties by AccorHotels.
In partnership with China’s Wanda Group, AccorHotels has cut the ribbon on new Pullman, Novotel and Mercure hotels in Hefei, the capital of Anhui province. All three form part of the new Hefei Wanda Cultural Tourism City – a massive 900,000m² complex which centred on a theme park.
The new hotels feature a combined total of 1,570 rooms and suites – 404 in the Pullman, 589 in the Novotel and 577 in the Mercure – along with four restaurants, three bars and 2,940m² of conference and banqueting space.
“This is our major project with Wanda Group to date in Greater China. The opening of these three hotels brings our network to 187 operating hotels and resorts in the region,” said Michel Molliet, AccorHotels’ chief operating officer for Greater China.
“The project marks another milestone in our commitment in developing China’s dynamic tertiary cities. We feel upbeat and excited with this development as the tranquil landscaped surrounds and private lakeside area provide the ideal space for business and leisure travel.”
Located 10 minutes’ drive from downtown Hefei, the new Wanda complex includes a theme park, film park, indoor water park, shopping mall and other attractions.
It becomes Wanda’s second “Cultural Tourism City” in China, following a park that opened earlier this year in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi province. AccorHotels also operates three properties at that park.
