The chief executive of TUI, Peter Long, has praised his opposite number at Thomas Cook for turning the ailing business around.
Harriett Green, Thomas Cook’s CEO, who was interviewed in the Sunday Times to mark her first year in charge of the holiday company, has said she is happy with the progress the brand is making – after bringing it back from the brink of collapse.
The company is still looking to sell its stake in the National Air Traffic Service, however it will reportedly not be forced into selling as many assets as previously thought.
Peter Long, who spoke to the Mail on Sunday, has congratulated Green and Thomas Cook, saying they are
“clearly on a journey of rehabilitation…That can only be healthy for the industry to have two strong competitors.”
