The newly opened Holiday Inn® Ankara Çukurambar is the first Holiday Inn hotel in Turkey to showcase the Open Lobby concept. Prior to this, the ‘Open Lobby’ concept was inaugurated at the Holiday Inn London – Brentford Lock in November 2012. In total, this concept is now available across nine Holiday Inn hotels across Europe.

The new 140-room hotel is being operated under a franchise agreement with Aska Otomotiv ve Petrol Urunleri Tic AS. Some of the facilities offered at the hotel include a banquet room, meeting rooms, spa, gym, bar and a restaurant.

The ‘Open Lobby’ concept as the name suggests is an open area which combines the front desk, lobby, restaurant, lounge area and business centre, doing away with the traditional lobby. The concept was initialized post the 2013 IHG Trends Report which revealed that business travellers today prefer to work at their own space and time. This is certainly driven by the ease of technology through smart phones.

Europe currently has 283 Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts with a further 33 in the pipeline (as of 30 September 2014).
