Turkish Airlines would like to fly to three more Indian cities in future, the company’s chairman has revealed.
The Economic Times reported Ilker Ayci, who chairs Turkish Airlines’ board and executive committee, as saying that he is keen on launching flights to Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.
At present, Turkish Airlines flies direct from Istanbul to Delhi and Mumbai.
“India is a market that is close to our heart. But unfortunately we have a problem of getting permission to fly. We want to fly to Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad,” Ayci was quoted saying on the sidelines of an event in Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines now flies to more than 240 international destinations, but only two of these are in India. It first started flying to the country in 2004 and currently operates daily services to both Delhi and Mumbai.
