Turkish Airlines recently inked a partnership agreement with Petra Development and Tourism Authority.
The signing was conducted in the presence of Nayef Al-Fayez, Jordan’s minister of tourism and antiquities, Mohammad Al-Nawafleh, chief commissioner of Petra Development and Tourism Authority, Ahmet Olmustur, Turkish Airline’s chief marketing officer and other senior management in Amman and Aqaba.
Upon visiting Petra, Turkish Airlines passengers will now receive a discount on entry tickets by submitting their boarding passes. Turkish Airlines will also be promoted at the entry of Petra Visitor Centre by Jordanian authorities. In exchange, the airline will give special discounts to tour agents for events organised in other countries by the Petra Development and Tourism Authority.
Olmustur said: “Turkish Airlines will work to promote Petra as one of the new seven wonders of the world through various channels. We plan to support the destination by promoting Petra through our internal channels, and Skylife. The airline will also promote the city in its external communications by supporting their marketing and development projects.”
Turkish Airlines and Petra Authority will participate in international tourism fairs together.
